- Commercial fishers in the middle Atlantic are complaining
that the management plan to help summer flounder was too
successful. Now flounder filets are more than 14 inches long
and that's too big for the plate, they say, so customers
aren't buying at $1.50, only 75-cents a pound. "We've
got an ocean full of jumbo fluke that no one wants to
buy," complains John Cole of the Fishermen's Dock
Cooperative in Point Pleasant, N.J.
